Green Dock Beetle
Altica lythri
Adult green dock beetles live on docks and other plants in damp meadows, marsh edges, and riverbanks. They chew leaves and can rapidly leap away when threatened. Their metallic green wing cases conceal functional wings, allowing them to fly to new feeding plants.
