Giant Snakehead
Channa micropeltes
Adult giant snakeheads occupy lakes, rivers, swamps, and flooded forests with dense cover. They are ambush predators that eat fish, frogs, crustaceans, and occasionally small animals at the water's edge. Like other snakeheads, they can breathe atmospheric air, allowing them to endure poorly oxygenated water.
