Peacock Pansy
Junonia almana
Adult Peacock Pansies patrol sunny clearings, roadsides, gardens, and open scrub in South and Southeast Asia. They drink nectar from flowers and may also take minerals from damp ground. The broad wings carry prominent eyespots that can startle or distract would-be predators when suddenly displayed.
