Girlfriend Underwing Moth

Adult Girlfriend Underwing Moths are nocturnal and fly through deciduous woods and woodland edges. They rest by day against bark with their subdued forewings folded tightly over the body, then visit sap flows or fallen fruit after dark. When startled, they can flash their brighter hindwings before quickly vanishing into cover.
