Yellow-pine Chipmunk
Tamias amoenus

Yellow-pine Chipmunks inhabit coniferous woods, forest edges, rocky slopes, and shrubby clearings across western North America. They forage actively for seeds, nuts, berries, fungi, green plants, and occasional insects, carrying food in expandable cheek pouches. A complex underground burrow provides shelter, nesting space, and stored food for lean periods.
