Boreal Bluet
Enallagma boreale
The adult boreal bluet patrols sunny ponds, fens, and marshy lake margins across northern regions. It perches on emergent plants, making quick flights to catch tiny flying insects. Males are bright blue, while females may be blue or more greenish, and both fold their delicate wings together over the body when perched.
