Wireworm Beetle
Melanotus castanipes
Adult wireworm beetles inhabit woodland edges, grasslands, and gardens, often resting among vegetation by day. They feed on plant material and may take nectar or other small food sources. Like other click beetles, they can snap their body to spring into the air when overturned or threatened.
