Western Boxelder Bug
Boisea rubrolineata

Adult western boxelder bugs inhabit boxelder and other maple-rich areas, as well as nearby buildings where they seek sheltered overwintering sites. They use their piercing beaks to feed mainly on seeds, though they may also take sap and fallen fruit. Their black bodies are marked with red lines, and the fully developed wings allow them to disperse between host trees.
