Dung Beetle
Onitis vanderkelleni

Adults inhabit open savanna and grassland where large mammals leave fresh dung. They feed on dung and excavate tunnels beneath suitable pats to provision their young. Powerful forelegs shift soil and compact dung into transportable portions. Males may use their horned heads to push rivals away from breeding sites.
