Blonde Millipede
Ophyiulus pilosus
The blonde millipede lives in moist woodland leaf litter, under rotting logs, and among decaying vegetation. It slowly feeds on decomposing plant material and fungi, helping return nutrients to the soil. When disturbed, it curls into a tight spiral and can release an unpleasant defensive secretion from glands along its body.
