Pitch-eating Weevil
Pachylobius picivorus
Adult pitch-eating weevils live in conifer forests, where they visit pine stumps, injured trees, and seedlings. They feed by chewing bark and exposed plant tissues, and may be attracted to fresh pine resin. The adult's long snout contains strong mouthparts suited to gnawing into woody surfaces.
