European Mudminnow
Umbra krameri

European mudminnows inhabit slow, heavily vegetated lowland waters, including oxbows, marshes, and drainage channels. They hunt insect larvae, small crustaceans, and other tiny aquatic prey with quick strikes from cover. This species can survive poorly oxygenated water by gulping air at the surface using its vascularized swim bladder.
