Ocellated Lizard
Timon lepidus

Ocellated Lizards live in sunny Mediterranean woodland, scrubland, rocky slopes, and agricultural edges. They bask openly in warm weather but retreat into burrows, crevices, or dense vegetation when alarmed. Adults eat large insects, spiders, snails, small vertebrates, and occasional fruit. Males become especially striking in the breeding season, developing bright blue ocelli along their flanks.
