Three-striped Poison Frog
Ameerega trivittata

This diurnal frog occupies the leaf litter and stream margins of humid Amazonian rainforest. It actively hunts small ants, mites, and other invertebrates with quick hops and a sticky tongue. Bright stripes advertise its chemical skin defenses, whose toxins are derived in part from its prey.
