Thai Zebra Tarantula
Melopoeus albostriatus

Thai zebra tarantulas inhabit tropical forest floors in Thailand and Myanmar, sheltering in burrows, crevices, and silk-lined retreats. They are mostly nocturnal ambush hunters that wait near cover before seizing insects and other small invertebrates. When threatened, they may rear up, expose their fangs, or flick irritating hairs from the abdomen. Their pale leg bands give them the distinctive zebra-like pattern behind their common name.
