Cuming's Water Monitor
Varanus cumingi

Adults inhabit lowland forests, mangroves, riverbanks, and coastal wetlands of the southern Philippines. They climb well, swim strongly, and forage both on land and in shallow water. Their varied diet includes crabs, molluscs, fish, birds' eggs, carrion, and small vertebrates. Like other monitor lizards, they use a deeply forked tongue to sample scents and locate food.
