Emerald Tree Boa
Corallus caninus
Emerald tree boas inhabit rainforest trees, where they rest on branches in a distinctive saddle-like coil. They are nocturnal ambush predators that feed chiefly on birds and small mammals, seizing prey with long teeth before constricting it. Their bright green body and pale markings conceal them among foliage. Unlike many boas, they spend nearly their entire lives above the forest floor.
