Green Chromide
Etroplus suratensis
Adults live in slow-moving freshwater, estuaries, and coastal lagoons of South India and Sri Lanka. They feed largely on algae and aquatic vegetation, supplemented by small invertebrates. This deep-bodied cichlid is known for its dark vertical bars and for tending its eggs and young.
