Corkwing Wrasse
Symphodus melops

Adult corkwing wrasse live around rocky reefs, kelp beds, and seaweed-covered shorelines in northeastern Atlantic coastal waters. They forage actively for crustaceans, molluscs, and other hard-shelled bottom animals. Breeding males construct and guard nests among algae, protecting the eggs from intruders.
