Gastrocopta pediculus

Adult Gastrocopta pediculus inhabits moist leaf litter, rotting wood, and shaded ground cover in woodland and other humid sites. It slowly grazes fungi, decomposing vegetation, and microbial films from surfaces with its radula. During dry conditions it remains concealed in tight shelter and withdraws into its shell for protection. This species is a minute land snail, with an adult shell only a few millimetres tall.
