Lynx Spider
Oxyopes heterophthalmus

Lynx spiders inhabit sunny grasslands, scrub, field margins, and low vegetation, where they actively hunt rather than build capture webs. They stalk and sprint after small insects, then seize prey with their spiny legs and venomous fangs. Their mottled brown and green coloration helps them disappear among stems and leaves. Females carry their egg sacs beneath the body and may guard them from predators.
