Wide-eyed Flounder
Bothus podas

Adult wide-eyed flounders inhabit sandy and muddy coastal bottoms, often near seagrass or rocky cover. They remain still for long periods before lunging at small fish, crustaceans, and bottom-dwelling invertebrates. Both eyes sit on the left side of the flattened body, allowing the fish to watch for prey while almost completely buried.
