Planehead Filefish
Stephanolepis hispida

Adults inhabit warm coastal reefs, rocky bottoms, seagrass beds, and sargassum-covered waters. Usually solitary, they pick at algae, sponges, and small bottom-dwelling invertebrates with their pointed mouths. Their rough, file-like skin and erectable first dorsal spine provide useful protection when threatened.
