Pygmy Filefish
Stephanolepis setifer

Adult pygmy filefish inhabit shallow tropical reefs, seagrass meadows, and weedy rocky bottoms. They browse on small benthic invertebrates and algae, moving carefully among cover rather than swimming long distances. A strong first dorsal spine can be raised and locked to make swallowing them much harder for predators.
