Convict Tang
Acanthurus triostegus
Adult convict tangs inhabit coral reefs, lagoons, and rocky coastal shallows across the Indo-Pacific. They spend much of the day grazing algae from reefs and other hard surfaces. A sharp, retractable spine on either side of the tail base can be used defensively during close encounters.
