Common Agama
Agama agama
Common agamas inhabit open, warm country including savannas, rocky outcrops, farms, and village walls across much of Africa. They hunt insects, spiders, and other small prey with rapid dashes and sharp bites. Adults bask conspicuously and defend favored perches with head-bobbing, push-up displays, and chases. Breeding males can develop vivid blue bodies and orange heads.
