Dragon Snake
Xenodermus javanicus

The Dragon Snake inhabits humid lowland forests, especially areas with leaf litter, muddy ground, and nearby freshwater. A secretive nocturnal hunter, it feeds chiefly on frogs and other small vertebrates encountered on the forest floor. Its unusually rough, dragon-like scales create a distinctive armored appearance and help conceal it among wet debris.
