Red-flanked Bluetail
Tarsiger cyanurus

Red-flanked Bluetails inhabit cool coniferous forests, forest edges, and tangled undergrowth across northern Asia. They forage close to the ground for insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates, often making quick sallies from a low perch. Males are distinctive for their blue tail and upperparts, set off by rich orange-red flanks.
