Tongue Worm
Armillifer armillatus

Adult tongue worms inhabit the nasal passages and respiratory tract of large snakes, especially pythons. They feed on blood, mucus, and tissue fluids, gripping the lining with hooks around their mouth. Despite their wormlike body, they are highly specialized parasitic arthropod relatives with a segmented-looking protective cuticle.
