Peacock Moth
Macaria notata
The adult Peacock Moth is a nocturnal woodland moth, flying around clearings, hedgerows, and deciduous forest edges. It is most active after dusk and rests by day with its patterned wings held flat against bark or foliage. Its mottled wing pattern provides effective camouflage when it settles on tree trunks.
