Sulawesi Babirusa
Babyrousa celebensis
Sulawesi babirusas live in tropical forests, wetlands, and riverine thickets on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. They forage for fruits, roots, leaves, and small animal matter, often using the snout to turn over soil and leaf litter. Adult males are known for their extraordinary upward-curving canine tusks, which can grow back toward the forehead.
