Southern Pig-tailed Macaque
Macaca nemestrina

Southern pig-tailed macaques inhabit tropical forests, swamps, and cultivated areas across parts of Southeast Asia. They travel on the ground and in trees, using quick climbing and agile leaps to forage for fruit, seeds, insects, and small animals. Adults live in social troops and communicate with facial displays and loud calls. Their short tail is often carried in a pig-tail-like curl, giving the species its common name.
