Giant Armadillo
Priodontes maximus

Giant armadillos inhabit tropical grasslands, savannas, and forests, spending much of the day hidden in extensive burrow systems. Mostly active at night, they use powerful claws to break into termite and ant nests. Their diet also includes other invertebrates and occasional small vertebrates. Their enormous digging claws can excavate a burrow large enough for other animals to use after they leave.
