Southern saltmarsh mosquito
Aedes camptorhynchus

Adults shelter among saltmarsh vegetation and fly most actively during calm, humid periods. Males feed on flower nectar, while females also take blood meals needed to develop eggs. Females locate hosts using body odour, heat, and exhaled carbon dioxide. Eggs are laid in damp places that will later be flooded by tides or rain.
