Great Plains Ratsnake
Pantherophis emoryi

Great Plains Ratsnakes inhabit prairies, rocky slopes, farmland, and open woodland, often hiding in burrows or beneath debris. They hunt rodents, birds, eggs, lizards, and amphibians, subduing larger prey by constriction. Despite their nonvenomous nature, they may hiss, strike, and vibrate the tail when threatened.
