Tailspot Blenny
Ecsenius stigmatura
The adult tailspot blenny lives among coral rubble and rocky reef crevices in the tropical western Pacific. It spends much of the day perched near cover, grazing filamentous algae and organic material from surfaces. A dark spot near the base of its tail resembles a large eye and may draw a predator's attention away from its head.
