Indian Cobra
Naja naja
Indian cobras inhabit grassland, farmland, forest edges, and areas around human settlements across South Asia. They are mostly active at dusk or night, feeding chiefly on rodents, frogs, lizards, and other small animals. When threatened, an adult raises its forebody and spreads its distinctive hood as a warning before striking with venomous fangs.
