Jordan Himri
Carasobarbus canis

Adult Jordan himri inhabit freshwater rivers and connected pools in the Jordan River basin, especially areas with flowing water and rocky or gravelly substrate. They are omnivores, grazing algae and plant material while also taking aquatic insects and other small invertebrates. This large barb is native to the region and has suffered severe declines as river habitats have been altered and depleted.
