Savanna Nightjar Chick
Caprimulgus affinis (chick)

Savanna Nightjar chicks crouch on bare ground in open woodland, scrub, and savanna, relying on mottled down to blend into leaf litter and soil. They remain still when danger approaches and are fed insects by their parents. A chick may flatten its body and close its eyes, making its camouflage especially difficult to detect.
