Black-sided Camel Cricket
Ceuthophilus latens
Adult black-sided camel crickets occupy cool, humid retreats including caves, rocky crevices, woodland debris, and buildings. They are nocturnal omnivores that scavenge fungi, plant material, and small animals. Despite their cricket name, adults are wingless and use their exceptionally long legs for sudden, far-reaching leaps.
