Winter Shade
Tortricodes alternella

The adult Winter Shade is a small, subdued moth of woodland edges, gardens, and scrubby deciduous habitats. It rests with its patterned wings folded tightly, blending into bark, dead leaves, and shadowed vegetation. Adults are notably active in the colder part of the year, flying on mild winter nights when few other moths are abroad.
