White Spot Hermit Crab
Dardanus lagopodes

Adults inhabit warm Indo-Pacific coastal waters, especially reef margins, rocky areas, and sandy seabeds. They are opportunistic scavengers that eat algae, detritus, carrion, and small invertebrates. The soft, coiled abdomen remains protected inside a borrowed gastropod shell, while the claws can close the shell entrance against threats.
