Yellow Cluster Anemone
Parazoanthus axinellae

Yellow Cluster Anemones form bright groups of small polyps on rocky reefs, overhangs, and cave walls in temperate coastal waters. Each polyp extends a ring of tentacles to catch drifting zooplankton and other tiny suspended prey. Stinging cells in the tentacles immobilize food and discourage predators, while the whole polyp can retract tightly when disturbed.
