Asian Swamp Eel
Monopterus albus

Asian swamp eels live in muddy freshwater wetlands, canals, ponds, and flooded rice fields across much of Asia. They ambush worms, crustaceans, insects, and small fish from vegetation or burrows in the silt. This air-breathing fish can survive low-oxygen water and may travel over wet ground when conditions change.
