European necklace shell
Euspira catena

Adult European necklace shells inhabit shallow seas, especially sandy shores and sheltered bays. They burrow through sediment in search of clams and other molluscs, which they can envelop with their large foot. A predatory moon snail, it uses its radula and chemical secretions to bore through a prey shell before feeding.
