Beaded Periwinkle
Cenchritis muricatus

The adult beaded periwinkle lives on tropical shorelines, especially around mangroves, rocks, and other intertidal vegetation. It grazes algae, biofilm, and decaying plant material with its rasping radula. During high water it often climbs above the tide line, retreating into its strongly sculptured shell when threatened.
