Common Cerith
Thericium vulgatum

Adult common ceriths inhabit shallow coastal mudflats, sandy bottoms, and seagrass beds. They crawl across the substrate, grazing microalgae, diatoms, and decaying organic material. Their long, turreted shell provides protection from many predators, and adults may bury partly into soft sediment.
