Comet Moth
Argema mittrei
Adult comet moths inhabit Madagascar's rainforests and fly chiefly at night. They have reduced mouthparts and generally do not feed, surviving on energy stored as caterpillars. Males are especially recognizable for their exceptionally long hindwing tails, which trail behind them in flight.
