Green Fruit-Piercing Moth
Eudocima salaminia

This nocturnal moth inhabits forest, orchards, and cultivated areas where ripe fruit is available. It flies after dark and uses its specialized proboscis to pierce soft fruit and drink the juices. During the day, its patterned wings help it blend into bark and dead leaves while resting. Adults may travel considerable distances in search of fruiting trees.
