House Longhorn Beetle
Hylotrupes bajulus

Adult house longhorn beetles inhabit dry, seasoned conifer timber in buildings, lumber, and old wooden structures. They are most active in warm weather, with adults emerging from wood and flying to find mates and egg-laying sites. Adults feed little or may take moisture and plant material, while their larvae are responsible for the extensive wood damage associated with the species. Their long antennae can exceed half their body length.
